Philippe Miami Sells Gansevoort Location to L.A. Hotspot KOI, With Plans to Reopen at Taverna Opa South Beach Location November 2011

Haute Chinese Dining Concept by Famed Chef Philippe Chow Purchases Taverna Opa South Beach; Boca Raton Location Scheduled to Launch August 2011.

BOCA RATON, FL, July 21, 2011 /Florida PR News/ -- Philippe Miami Beach, the celebrity hotspot, is moving out of the Gansevoort Miami Beach with plans to reopen November 2011 at 36 South Ocean Drive, formerly Taverna Opa. L.A. sushi hotspot, Koi, will fill Philippe's Gansevoort location this summer.

"We're excited to make the move," says Stratis Morfogen, CEO of Philippe Chow Restaurant Group. "The timing couldn't have been better. A lucrative real estate opportunity for Taverna Opa was presented to us, and 24 hours later, we received a call from Jay Luchs of CBR Richard Ellis, who represents Philippe in L.A., saying that Koi was interested in the Gansevoort location. We felt that the real estate buy of Taverna Opa would be the better long-term investment for Philippe, as we plan on serving Miami for many years to come."

Philippe by Philippe Chow will also expand northward to Palm Beach County, debuting this August at 200 East Palmetto Park Road, former location of III Forks. The haute Chinese dining concept has already garnered much success and celebrity fanfare in metropolitan areas including New York City and Los Angeles.
