Remington College Congratulates new Nursing Graduates

Remington College of Nursing graduation ceremony set for Thursday, January 19.

HEATHROW, FL, January 19, 2012 /Florida PR News/ -- Remington College of Nursing(http://www.remingtonnursing.com/) will hold graduation ceremonies for its second class of graduates on Thursday, January 19 at 10:00 am at the Lake Mary Events Center.

The program is designed for people who already have a bachelor's or higher degree in a different field but want to make a career change and switch to the field of nursing.

"Remington College of Nursing congratulates our new BSN graduates and commends them on their commitment to the profession of nursing," said Karin Polifko, PhD, RN, NEA-BC, Vice President, Operations and Academic Affairs. "We look forward to hearing about the contributions that they will make in health care across the country."

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of registered nurses is expected to grow by 22 percent from 2008 to 2018, much faster than the average for all occupations.[ii]

Generally, RNs with at least a bachelor's degree will have better job prospects than those without a bachelor's.

At Remington College of Nursing, classes are held in Lake Mary. The program features modern classrooms and a clinical simulation laboratory, which contains human patient simulators, mannequins and medical equipment. The goal is to simulate the same challenges in the classroom that students may face in a nursing environment.

Remington College of Nursing has developed relationships with more than a dozen health care facilities in the Orlando area to offer students clinical opportunities in addition to their classroom work, including Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children, Nemours Clinics, South Seminole Hospital, Central Florida Medical Center, and area health departments.

"Our program is unique in that qualifying students who have a Bachelor of Science or Arts degree can earn their BSN degree in as few as 12 months," said Dr. Polifko. "Our program is for those individuals who are interested in changing their original career path. We help them prepare to enter the healthcare workforce in the shortest time possible. While we cannot guarantee employment, all of us are acutely aware of the nursing shortage in certain areas and our program provides graduates who, after passing the state licensure examination, can work as registered nurses in a variety of health care settings."

The Lake Mary Events Center is located at 260 North Country Club Road in Lake Mary.
